It was hard work building this one, but it was clear to me from the beginning that I wanted  it like this. Making it helped me learn how to handle crepe papier better.  A fun and colorful piñata indeed!

Making this piñata was certainly special.  For months I was saving beautiful clippings from different magazines, flowers, birds & animals. I coverded the Papier-mâché base with them but it didn´t look so nice.  I felt bad because I was tired and I ran out of ideas that day. After that I began again to work with it, I started covering it with different combinations of white paper so that one could still see the motives.  I tried a combination of colors with blue and white/grey washi tape and golden paper. At the end it resulted in a very feminine piñata that reminds me of chinese lamps. I imagine it swinging in the gentle breeze of summer.

Minimalist piñata with a “touch” of the 7 colors of the rainbow.

A short story: Some months ago I was on a trip, we were very close to a high waterfall and we saw a rainbow.  Actually it was not a bow, but a full circle,  amazing.
